GARCIA RUNS BROOKLYN

By Bandit Staff • Sep 21st, 2009 • Category: GAME COVERAGE

Firstly, we would like to apologize to our fans as our website was damaged by a cyber attack mid last week until earlier this morning. We could not update the site as we normally do and will spend the good part of the week refreshing you all on what has taken place and bringing you up to speed.

Well were do we begin, the Bandits traveled all the way out to Brooklyn’s Tilden HS, which by the way has become home of some great minor league football as of late. Our hats go off as it was the 1st time our program has had the chance to enjoy the Gladiator, WWE fenced in environment of Tilden’s Football field. “Its always great when our love can help out the young men that will follow and seeing the players from the Tilden program in attendance made what we do not only worth it but necessary”, said Coach Billy Badson.

The game slightly delayed by 2 other great games running a little late would see the New York Bandits (6-1) versus the Brooklyn Seminoles (5-1). The Bandits coming off a disappointing performance versus the New York Rebels and the Seminoles coming off a huge win in PA versus the Olney Blaze would create the entire buzz necessary for a huge game in EFA play.

The game would begin with a major bang as no sooner than 10 seconds in the game the Seminoles would take the lead on a huge kick return for 73 yards. “We say we will commit more time to specials every week, but it’s my fault that we don’t and it could have hurt us”, says Coach Billy Badson. So before the fans could find the warm spot on the bench the score was Bandits 0 – Noles 6.

The Bandits responded with a great return by up man Karl Pfistner and were setup 1st and 10. The Bandits offense took the field and marched right down the field to be stopped by the Seminoles in the Red Zone. The Bandits defense took over with the Noles pinned deep in their own territory. The Defense played great versus one of the best single player talents in the EFA in Noles QB Gerald Wilson. The Bandits defense found a good rhythm and made just enough big plays to end Noles drives all day. “When you don’t record any interceptions or stats like that but can still play as a team and fight, you will always have a chance to win”, says Defensive Coordinator Louis Perez.

The next drive would watch the Bandits start to put things together, looking for a pop the staff chose to incorporate Jovan Garcia into the backfield this week as a change of pace and indeed he was rushing for 131 yards on 11 carries and 3TD’s, Garcia was a game changer. Stay tuned as after film review we will break the game down in even more detail.

Bandits win in a thriller by the final score of 24 – 6 securing a 7-1 record for the year.
