The New York Bandits have a long running history of epic battles and the Irvington Knights have always stepped up to answer the bell. In what only can be called a bizarre year of events the Bandits are enjoying another fine season and the Irvington Knights are rebuilding. As the Bandits prepare for another playoff push each game has reason and the Bandits took the field poised to get a little better.

As the Knights traveled light the Boys in Blue were in full strength and focused on getting better with each play. The Bandits moved quickly versus the Knights and often as Knights won the toss and elected to kick the Bandits moved down the field with a strong running game. Damian Jones #34 was the 1st player to break into the endzone today on a 6 yard run followed by Mike Sheridan #15 extra point. “Jones seemed to be running the ball really hard today, the young man has a promising future which was on display today”, says Coach Billy Badson.

The Bandits defense has played very well all season and played just as good today. As the Bandits continue to work hard every week another player has a chance to step up and on defense several players did just that. Greg Horowitz #1 picked up a fumble and found the endzone for a score and Dave Reid #59 a lifelong Bandit secured his 1st career interception on a tipped pass. The history of the great New York Bandits Defenses is storied but as the players change and as the team moves away from a stern 4-3 cover 2 defense the chance for players with a different skill set creates unique chances for all.

The Bandits offense also tweaked the lineup as Dave Hom played his 1st full game in a Bandit Uniform in 2 seasons. The offense was looking for a spark as the passing game struggled the week before. As the change helped produce 3 passing TD’s the team enjoyed a huge offensive day. Dave Hom #11 found Collis Martin #16 for 1 TD and Lenny Gonzalez #8 for 2 TD’s. The running game would not be left out of the mix as Damian Jones #34 added another 3 TD’s for a total of 4 on the day and Jovan Garcia #4 added a late score on a TD scoring run.

The Bandits played well and won in grand fashion over the Knights 63-0
